Raymond has been living on the streets in Denver for over three years. His homelessness began after the death of his wife, who suffered from seizures caused by a brain tumor. Before she passed, Raymond chose to leave everything behind to care for her, living together in a tent. Since her death, he’s struggled with alcoholism, depression, and holding down work.
Raymond talks candidly about how he met his wife, their life together while unhoused, and the toll her passing took on him. He reflects on how they made the best of their difficult situation—watching movies on their phone, sharing drinks, and trying to enjoy each other’s company. The hardest part for him wasn’t living in a tent—it was losing her.
